Skate PNG x CFLI: Empowering the Youth of Port Moresby

"Seeing youth from different communities come together at Ela Beach every week has been awesome. Skateboarding is brand new and growing fast here, and this funding lets us take things to a whole new level for everyone."

— Charcia, Skate PNG Programs Manager

This September, thanks to funding from the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI), we are bringing our free weekly Ela Beach sessions to a whole new level with an action-packed week focused on empowering local youth through skateboarding.

A week for youth who are not yet working or studying, from the 21st-23rd of September we will be hosting a pop up youth hub at Ela beach basketball courts. There will be free skate sessions, CV writing workshops and mental health awareness sessions, all free, and all welcome!!

Join us on Friday the 25th at the Ela beach basketball courts for a skate demo featuring Carlos Adomea (Solomon Islands) and William Sanday (Fiji), two of the region's leading Pasifika skateboarders—alongside visiting Australian female skaters.

Saturday 26th the team will be at the Taurama/Madai skatepark for demos and workshops. Come join us for a roll!
